Kevin and Demarcus did an excellent job of preparing surfaces prior to painting. This is labor intensive but key to a quality finish. It was a lot of work but I’m incredibly happy with the outcome.

Before we even closed on the house, we started the search for the right contractor. And let me tell you—my wife and I met with what felt like every painting company in the area. I have NEVER been more impressed with a contractor in my entire life. For me to say that is something! From the moment they came out to do the project estimate to today the experience has been incredible. Their communication skills are unmatched! They could teach lessons to other companies. My deck was worn, sun beaten, tired and had some rotten boards. They let me know when they were otw, and arrived this morning 30 minutes early!!!
I have a good sized deck. The repairs were made, holes filled, and completely stained all in the same day. Both gentlemen that came, Kevin and Casey L, were polite, respectful of my property, knowledgeable, and friendly! These character traits are huge to me. It is rare in the world we live in today that you find all of these things in one company. The price was extremely fair for the amount of work involved.
If there were more stars to give I would.

A Cut Above is a perfect name for this company.
Working with Michael and his crew was refreshing to say the least. My husband and I moved into our home late June of 2025 and immediately knew we wanted painters to come in and do essentially all of our home, inside and out. We researched, asked around, and checked reviews for SO many companies – But A Cut Above really stood out.
We had Justin, the project manager, come out and give us a fairly blanketed AND more detailed quote; he seemed to be happy to do so and came out with pre-knowledge which allowed things to be extra smooth. He had front of office email us the quote with important details and had it categorized in a manner I had asked him to, which was incredibly helpful.
Early January of 2026 we decided we were going to pull the trigger and have all 3 of our bathrooms painted and boy am I glad I went with this company.
Jonathan came out (project coordinator) and grabbed the colors we wanted, then came out later in the week to give me generous sized swatches and was incredibly knowledgeable! Answered all of my questions with ease and pleasure.
Kevin and his crew came out on the 25th of March to complete the job in one day and assured me over every curiosity I had – all the way to reminding me that paint looks different when it’s wet and to absolutely call them if I needed a single thing touched up.
He was right – paint looks a lot different dry and there were some spots. I was nervous to call them back out for what I deemed “miniscule” but he made SO sure to come out with a big smile and made sure that I was happy with the job!
Now, with all things in life, hiccups happened – and Michael truly dealt with every single one with humility and grace. Having an owner of a company accept and take responsibility, on top of understanding the customer? Honestly incredible especially in 2026. Now, none of these hiccups were detrimental enough for me to choose not to work with them and I am so happy with the outcome. All of my bathrooms are gorgeous and EXACTLY how I pictured.

Hired this company to repaint the living room in my townhome and am very pleased with the result. Cut-ins were tight, and coverage is near-perfect with no tiger striping or dark/light spots. All drywall damage was corrected, and they even replaced some baseboards that showed signs of prior water damage. The finished product required only minor cleanup which I told the crew I’d do myself. I have only a couple of minor touch ups on one wall that need attention which I could also do myelf but they mentioned they would come back at no extra charge. The SW Duration paint is better than most, and there’s a 10 year warranty on the work. You get what you pay for. Definitely recommend.

If i could i would give them 20 stars. They did fantastic work from estimate to finish. Michael and Justin were wonderful. We had an appointment for the estimate and they were here on time. They don’t rush you and they listen. They also make great suggestions. They are wonderfully professional and i found the prices more than fair. They also have a great network of professionals that can help you with other work you may need done. I needed my driveway , fences, everything outside freshened up for the holidays and they recommended Savannah River soft wash. Beautiful job. Now thank you cut above and Savannah River soft wash my home is ready to decorate for the holidays.

Jacob and his crew, Michael, everyone that we worked with are true professionals. They went above and beyond in painting the entire exterior of our home (trim, body, chimney, doors, garage door, shutters) and we really appreciate their hard work! We had extensive dry rot to our wood siding that they fixed as well. I am pretty picky when it comes to details and Jacob was extremely professional, polite, and diligent in handling all of my requests. These are the type of people that stand behind their work 100% and it shows. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing paint work done. We had our house painted recently and the crew suggested a solution to a problem we were experiencing with our porch ceiling. They were able to schedule us quickly.The solution recommended was exceptional and the ceiling looks better than new. Brian and Rocky were great to work with. They were very careful moving the furniture, doing work, and replacing everything that was moved. I’d recommend them an A Cut Above doesn’t of your exterior painting.

A Cut Above Painting took great care of the painting they did for us. We also had to have the ceiling repaired due to a leak from Helene. The ceiling patch didn’t look quite right. They re-repaired the ceiling. If something doesn’t look right to them, they fix it. The crews were very efficient and cleaned up after themselves. We are pleased with their service.

We had Kevin, Demarcus, Will and Jared come out for our project on a Saturday and they did a great job! Finished in a day, cleaned up well & did a great job on our walls and baseboards. They even helped seal our pillar in the front which we really appreciated.

My wife and I would give 10 stars if Google let us. One of the most redeeming qualities a company can have is “communication”. From the first time we reached out to A Cut Above, they kept us in the know. We appreciated the time given to choose our colors without feeling rushed. It rained a few days while the job was ongoing. A lesser company would have probably kept painting so they could move onto the next house, but the team ensured weather conditions were optimum to make certain all was done right the first time. Great work by a great group of professional workers. I came across this company after seeing them working a house in my neighborhood. They did a great job on that project, so I reached out to them to get a quote. The quote was fast, fair and I decided to get them to paint a few rooms for me. They showed up on time, ready to work, did not cut corners and provided me and my family with a finished product that exceeded my expectations. I definitely will use them again for my painting needs. We are repeat customers and will continue to be. Incredibly happy with the result, but even more importantly, happy with the process. These guys do great work, they show up on time, they’re efficient, and they take great care with the whole home. If you’ve used any other home improvement contractor before you probably know what I mean. I didn’t have to worry about damage as they moved through my house. They were clean when traversing non-work areas and they cleaned up their workspace each day as well. Bottom line, finding someone who does what they say they’re gonna do, and does it with care, is very rare, and these guys do just that.

It was time for my fence to be repainted and I contacted them since I remembered they were the ones that painted my neighbors house. Michael, the owner, came to my house to provide an estimate and was very professional. He provided a complete, very thorough estimate which included all the terms of the contract and proof of business license, insurance and bond. After I agreed to the contract, they sent a team out to pressure wash the fence, which I considered very professional to make sure it was ready to be painted. Then they sent David out to paint. David was very professional and did an excellent job. Overall an excellent experience with them and will be in touch with them again in the future for any of my painting needs. A Cut Above just finished painting my hallway after making repairs and painted all the interior doors in my home. Even with a few snafus that could not be helped they were excellent. Prompt arrival each day of the project. They cleaned up after themselves more than ever expected and their communication was excellent.
